Understanding the problem and business objective
Understanding the Problem
Following the legalization of cannabis in Canada, the number of recreational users has seen a significant rise. While there are numerous sellers who offer their products through physical stores, only a few websites provide delivery services.
Cannabis Canada offers a mail-order delivery service. By offering an efficient online ordering process that complies with legal requirements, Cannabis Canada provides a convenient and safe option for those looking to purchase cannabis products.
Understanding the Business Objective

Offer an easy buying experience to the users with an easy-to-navigate platform that can enable them to purchase products online.

Build customer loyalty by establishing a community of the customers by promoting Cannabis Canada Club and providing deals & early access for customer satisfaction.

Provide customers with quality products with information on its usage and side effects along with promoting products as per customer preferences.

Support Local Cannabis Merchants by providing them a platform to sell products and deliver through our platform and partnering with them.
2. Research
Statistical Analysis
Statistical analysis informed target audience identification, persona creation, and information architecture development. It guided the selection of featured products and emphasized the importance of displaying product information as site content.

Competitive Scans
Through the competitive analysis of three websites, insights were gained into their information architectures, strengths, weaknesses, and improvement opportunities. This analysis enabled the identification of effective elements and areas for enhancement in terms of information structure and content.

3. Empathize
Personas
Personas were created based on the statistical data of users and their preferred products to gain a deeper understanding of users’ needs, goals, and behaviors. They helped design a better user experience by providing insights into users’ motivations, pain points, and preferences.

User Objective

Buy cannabis online through a website without excessive navigation online.

Buy products at affordable rates and get discounts and promotional codes.

To be able to get introduced to new products in the market and read about it.

To be able to virtually buy quality products and read information about it.
